What DDP Shipping Means for Your Research Peptide Order
Every order ships DDP — duties paid — from a single origin. Here's what that actually changes at checkout and at your door.
DDP shows up on a lot of shipping pages as three letters without much explanation. It stands for Delivered Duty Paid, and it's the Incoterm that governs every order shipped from QSC Peptidology — worth explaining plainly, because it changes what you should (and shouldn't) expect to pay at your door.
Duties are paid before the package leaves, not when it arrives
Under DDP, the seller — not the buyer — is responsible for import duties, and pays them before the shipment reaches your country. The practical effect: the price you pay at checkout is the full landed cost. There's no customs invoice waiting for you at delivery, no courier asking for an unexpected payment before they'll hand over the package. If a courier ever does ask you for an additional duties payment on a QSC order, that's worth flagging to us directly — it shouldn't happen under this model.
The alternative most shoppers have run into elsewhere is DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) or an equivalent, where the buyer settles duties on arrival — sometimes a fixed customs fee, sometimes a courier "processing" surcharge on top of it. DDP shifts that entire step to the seller's side of the transaction.
One origin, no regional stock
Every order ships from the same origin — there's no regional warehouse network and no local stock held anywhere else. That's a deliberate tradeoff: it means transit time is a real number (typically 3–13 business days depending on destination, most commonly 7–10) rather than a same-region-next-day promise, but it also means every customer, in every one of the 58 countries we currently ship to, is buying from the same batch inventory at the same price basis. Nothing is quietly older stock because it sat in a regional warehouse longer.
Shipping itself is calculated by package weight, not by destination country — a kit shipped to a nearby country costs the same to ship as the same kit sent further away. That surprises some customers who expect shipping to scale with distance the way it might with a regional carrier; with a single-origin DDP model, weight is the variable that actually drives cost, not geography. Orders above a $1,000 subtotal ship free regardless of weight.
What you actually get
In practice: sealed, insulated packaging for transit; a tracking number as soon as the courier (DHL, UPS, or FedEx, depending on the order) scans the shipment; and a landed price with no customs surprise waiting at the end. If customs holds a shipment for additional review — which happens occasionally with any international courier shipment, research chemicals included — that's on us to resolve, not an extra cost passed to you.
